Training
The thematic area dedicated to Education and Training aims to foster a new generation of researchers and professionals in the field of emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases through advanced, multidisciplinary training programmes grounded in the One Health approach.
Activities within this thematic area are primarily organized into three main areas:
- National and International Doctoral Training Programmes: Establishment and co-funding of PhD programmes focused on the study of emerging infectious threats. Through strong collaboration among universities and research institutions across the country, these programmes provide competitive doctoral fellowships open to both national and international candidates, fostering a dynamic and culturally diverse research environment.
- Interdisciplinary and Cross-Sectoral Training: Development of high-level expertise through advanced courses, workshops, internships, and international mobility opportunities. Trainees are immersed in an ecosystem that integrates academia, clinical practice, and industrial research and development, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to address future biological and public health challenges as highly qualified professionals.
- Knowledge Valorisation and Global Networking: Integration of early-career researchers into activities related to science communication, health and economic impact assessment, and intellectual property management. These initiatives leverage extensive academic networks and European university alliances to maximize knowledge exchange, enhance international attractiveness, and promote transparent, merit-based standards in scientific recruitment.
