Matteo Passerini

I am a young medical doctor specializing in Infectious Diseases, with contributions especially to Phage Therapy and Septic Orthopedics. At the Mayo Clinic, I played a key role in pioneering phage therapy clinical trials, tackling regulatory challenges, and promoting knowledge dissemination through online platforms and clinical rounds. I also led the Italian section of Phagistry, an international research database. In Septic Orthopedics, I collaborated with institutions like Ospedale Sacco and the Mayo Clinic, advancing research on Native Vertebral Osteomyelitis (NVO) by improving diagnostic imaging, refining treatment protocols, and contributing to scientific publications. Furthermore, this scientific commitment is also reflected in practical work, as I serve as an infectious disease consultant for major orthopedic centers and am part of the osteo-infectiology team at Ospedale Sacco. I am passionate about education and have organized Journal Clubs, taught students, and presented at international congresses.
