Letizia Santinelli

Letizia Santinelli is a Post doctoral Research Fellow (RTDA) at the Department of Public Health and Infectious Diseases at Sapienza, University of Rome, with a project focused on the identification of clinical and surrogate biomarkers and evaluation of immunological response during emerging and re-emerging infections. Her research activities are dedicated on the evaluation of immunological and virological aspects of several infectious diseases (HRV, SARSCoV-2, HIV-1 and HPV), and on the analysis of several serological markers of inflammation and immune activation characterizing viral pathogenesis, to identify predictive markers of disease severity; moreover, she developed an excellent expertise on the evaluation of cellular immune responses, as well as in the characterization of microbiota profile in different anatomical compartments. She participates as a speaker at several national and international conferences to contribute to the knowledge of viral acute and chronic infections, and to improve the expertise in the field of Infectious diseases. She received several awards for the results obtained in the field of Infectious Diseases as a young investigator. Moreover, she established collaborative relationships with the world's leading experts in the field of immunology, in order to provide input into research concerning the management of viral infections.
