Ilaria Varotto Boccazzi is a researcher in Parasitology at the Department of Biosciences of the University of Milan. After the master degree in Biology, she began working on vector-borne diseases, obtaining a PhD from the University of Milan. Her research is focused on the study of the immune response in parasitic infections caused mainly by protozoa belonging to the genus Leishmania, investigating the mechanisms of host-parasite interaction, also with the goal of developing novel tools for the diagnosis of vector-borne infections
