Georgia Diakoudi was born in Athens, Greece. She was has a bachelor and a Master’s degree from the Agricultural University of Athens (Greece) and a PhD in Animal Health and Zoonosis (2020) from the University of Bari (Italy). Since 2020, she is a researcher in the Department of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Bari (Italy). Her main research interests include virology, molecular diagnostics and virus discovery. Her research focuses mainly on animal viruses, development and optimization of diagnostic protocols and next-generation sequencing techniques
